Ford Transit box trucks come in several different shapes and sizes. We offer a fully enclosed chassis cab or a cutaway with an open-air cab that needs to be attached to the cargo body. We also offer two V6 engine options. The 3.5L PFDi V6 gets 275 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The more powerful 3.5L EcoBoost V6 gets 310 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. Once you’ve chosen your cab and engine types, you’ll need to determine which wheelbase you need. There are three options to choose from:
Maximum payloads vary from 4,494 to 6,466 lbs. Actual cargo volume will depend on what sort of cargo attachment you attach to the cab.
For ultimate flexibility, there’s the Ford Stripped Chasis. The Commercial Stripped Chasis provides a rock-solid base for whatever you want to do. Two Stripped Chassis are available. The first is the F-53 Motorhome, centered around a 7.3L V8 with 335 horsepower and 468 lb-ft of torque. It has seven wheelbase options, ranging from 158-252 inches long. The beefier F-59 features the same engine and is Ford’s highest-rated commercial Stripped Chassis, with a GVRW of up to 22,000 lbs. It has wheelbases ranging from 158-208 inches.
