The Pro Access Tailgate was first debuted in 2024 on the Ford F-150. The F-150 is the only truck with this functionality for now, but we expect to see the Super Duty adopt this feature before too long. Ford Pro Access Tailgate Features

The Pro Access tailgate is in the middle of the tailgate, enabling it to swing open like a barn door. The door is 37 inches long and sits in the center of the tailgate, totaling 60% of its total length. The gate is hinged to stop at 37, 70, or 100 degrees. Two fixed tailgate sections sit on either side of the door for a 20-60-20 configuration. The tailgate can still be dropped via the traditional method, opening the entire bed for pallet storage. The Pro Access tailgate has the same integrity as a standard tailgate configuration, so you lose zero daily functionality. When climbing in the bed, the new tailgate removes the traditional step ladder instead of a footstep that hides under the bumper. The swing door works well when trailering; part of the reason is a stop at 37 degrees, so you don’t hit your trailer.
