Sights in Midwest City
Rumors began in the 1940s that an airfield was being bult near what would become Midwest City. The city was incorporated in 1943 on March 11 and became a model for restoration after WWII. The city saw growth in the next decades with the addition of a hospital, state college, and the Heritage Park Mall. Midwest City was also the site of the first Sam’s Club. In 1999 and again in 2003, severe tornados struck the area. Today, much of the city has been revitalized to bring in new residents and visitors.
